Our wish is that you feel right at home when you move into one of our Sea Lodges. We want it to feel like your very own holiday home, a place with room for the whole family. A warm, cosy and welcoming retreat, right on the waterfront. And for a few days (or even a few weeks, if you like), that place is yours.

Here, you have your own kitchen where you can cook whatever you fancy for dinner, enjoy a traditional Hönö loaf for breakfast, or take a morning swim just outside your Sea Lodge. The water is shallow, so you'll need to wade out a little, but the pier right outside makes it easier. Most importantly, don't miss the magical sunsets from the terrace. Pick up fresh shrimp from the local fish shop, whip up your own aioli, and grab a baguette from the grocery store just a few hundred metres away.

The people behind Hönö Sjöbodar are Anna and Johan. Ever since we met, we've shared a passion for travelling and discovering new places. We've stayed everywhere from simple hostels to luxury hotels, and even spent a few months living in a camper van. The places that have helped us slip most easily into holiday mode have always been those that felt like a home away from home — peaceful surroundings, spaces for spending time together, a cosy atmosphere and thoughtful details. Often, those places were private homes belonging to someone else. That's when we've felt we truly got to know a destination and experience it for real.

As our family grew quickly — from two people to five in just four years — we found ourselves looking for something different when travelling. We needed enough space for a family of five and a kitchen where we could cook our own meals instead of eating out every day with three energetic children. It became increasingly important that our accommodation wasn't just somewhere to sleep, but somewhere to spend time together — to play, talk, eat, laugh, listen to music, have coffee, play games and simply enjoy being together.

When we first visited these Sea Lodges, it was love at first sight. We immediately realised that this was exactly the kind of holiday home we had been searching for ourselves. During 2023 and 2024, we renovated the Sea Lodges and made them our own. We redesigned them to comfortably accommodate up to six guests and filled each Sea Lodge with unique vintage finds to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. And honestly, it was also a good excuse to finally find a home for the many vintage treasures we had collected over the years.

Alongside our love of travel and vintage design, one of us also happens to have an unreasonable fascination with technology. That's why self-check-in with smart locks was an obvious choice. No keys, no fixed check-in times, no hassle.
